Meet socially and draw support from other Catholic men with similar values

Who we are

We are part of an international body of Catholic men who meet once a month to enjoy each other’s company and at the same time strengthen family life through our friendship.

Membership is open to any Catholic man over the age of eighteen.

We are non-political. We are actively involved in Church and parish life. Our membership is drawn from a wide spectrum, reflecting the diverse nature of society.

What we do

As well as meeting monthly we also enjoy a varied social calendar, which you can see elsewhere on this website.

We also raise money for charity. There are two Catenian charities that raise money for bursary & benevolence grants. In addition each year Salisbury Catenians nominate to support their own charity. These have included supporting nuns in South Africa to set up a school, our local Trussell Trust, Let the Children Live, a charity that was set up by an English Catholic priest to help the street children in Medellin, Columbia’s second city and EdUKaid, a charity whose aim is Improving Education and Changing Lives in rural Tanzania.

Our Aims

  • To foster brotherly love among our members and to develop social bonds among our members and their families

  • To support one another in the practice of our Faith.

  • To support Brothers in difficulty or need including maintaining and administering benevolent funds through the Catenian Association Benevolent and Children’s Fund.

  • To advance the interests and development of young Catholics and to assist them in the choice or pursuit of a career, including the promotion and support of the Catenian Association Bursary Fund.

  • To help our clergy and to encourage and support vocations to the religious life in appropriate ways.

  • To support charities which the Circle, Province or Association considers are worthy and relevant.
